And every now and then, they send us a free box of candles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh,\u201d replied the auditor, somewhat disappointed that his unusual question actually had a practical answer.<\/p>\n<p>So he thought he\u2019d go on, in the traditional obnoxious way\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRabbi, what about all these cookie purchases? What do you do with the crumbs from the cookies?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAh, yes,\u201d replied the Rabbi calmly, \u201cwe actually collect up all the crumbs from the cookies and when we have enough we send them in a box back to the manufacturer. Every now and then, they send a box of cookies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh,\u201d replied the auditor, thinking hard how to fluster the Rabbi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, Rabbi,\u201d he went on, \u201cwhat do you do with all the foreskins from the circumcisions?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, here too, we do not waste,\u201d answered the Rabbi. \u201cWhat we do is save up all the foreskins and when we have enough we actually send them to the IRS.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe IRS?\u201d asked the auditor in disbelief.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAh, yes,\u201d replied the Rabbi, \u201cthe IRS.
