With just three weeks to go until the presidential election, Donald Trump\u2019s campaign has taken a strange turn.<\/p>\n

The GOP nominee for president has never been one to play by the political rulebook, but his recent appearances have been especially bizarre: He\u2019s swayed onstage to music instead of taking questions, trashed people he\u2019s also trying to court as voters and spent precious time campaigning in solidly blue states, to name a few.<\/p>\n

Here are some of the puzzling things he\u2019s been up to lately in his race against Vice President Kamala Harris.<\/p>\n

His town hall became a 40-minute musical tribute<\/h3>\n

During a Pennsylvania town hall Monday night, Trump abruptly said he was done taking questions and wanted to \u201cjust listen to music,\u201d directing his staff to play\u00a0\u201ca couple of real beauties.\u201d<\/p>\n

What followed was\u00a0nearly 40 minutes<\/a> of Trump singing along, swaying and lightly dancing on stage to a cover of Leonard Cohen\u2019s \u201cHallelujah\u201d and Franz Schubert\u2019s \u201cAve Maria,\u201d along with various hits by Sinead O\u2019Connor, Elvis Presley, Guns N\u2019 Roses and the Village People.<\/p>\n

Even Trump appeared confused at times about what was unfolding, remarking after one of the first songs that \u201cthere\u2019s nobody leaving\u201d and asked, \u201cWhat\u2019s going on?\u201d The crowd seemed unsure whether the event was over.<\/p>\n

He inexplicably disparaged auto workers<\/h3>\n

Trump\u2019s campaign has been aggressively pursuing support<\/a> from auto workers in Michigan, the capital of American car manufacturing. But he threw all that out the window Tuesday when he diminished their jobs as simply taking parts \u201cout of a box\u201d and said the work was so easy a child could do it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey build everything in Germany, and then they assemble it here. They get away with murder,\u201d Trump claimed<\/a> during an appearance at the Economic Club of Chicago.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey take them out of a box, and they assemble them. We could have our child doing it,\u201d he continued<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He rattled off about Virginia when asked about Google<\/h3>\n

In another odd moment during his Chicago appearance on Tuesday, Trump responded<\/a> to a question about whether Google should be broken up by saying he hasn\u2019t \u201cgotten over\u201d the\u00a0Justice Department suing the state of Virginia<\/a>\u00a0for removing people from voter rolls.<\/p>\n

Then, when the interviewer reminded Trump that the question was about Google, Trump said the tech company \u201cis very bad to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI called the head of Google the other day and said I\u2019m getting a lot of good stories lately, but you don\u2019t find them in Google,\u201d Trump said. \u201cI think it\u2019s a whole rigged deal. I think Google is rigged<\/a> just like our government is rigged all over the place.\u201d<\/p>\n

He canceled a planned appearance on CNBC<\/h3>\n

Joe Kernen, one of the hosts of CNBC\u2019s\u00a0\u201cSquawk Box,\u201d revealed on air Tuesday that Trump pulled out<\/a> of an upcoming interview on the show.<\/p>\n

Sources familiar with the original plans\u00a0told<\/a>\u00a0The Daily Beast that the interview was supposed to happen later this week, until Trump abruptly canceled.\u00a0A Trump spokesperson told\u00a0CNN<\/a>\u00a0he canceled due to a scheduling conflict.<\/p>\n

This marks the second time this month Trump has skipped out on a major interview. After canceling his appearance on CBS\u2019s \u201c60 Minutes,\u201d he posted several angry rants<\/a> on social media calling the century-old network \u201cA THREAT TO DEMOCRACY\u201d and demanding its broadcast license be revoked.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s been scheduling rallies in solidly blue states<\/h3>\n

While presidential candidates typically hold most of their rallies in swing states \u2015 a political necessity of the electoral college \u2015 Trump has been scheduling some of his final events of the election in solidly blue states<\/a> like California, Colorado, Illinois and New York.<\/p>\n

His decision to spend any amount of time and resources in states he has no chance of winning has baffled<\/a> pundits.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s even repeatedly insisted that he\u2019s going to flip his home state of New York even though no major polls indicate that. A Republican hasn\u2019t won the state in 40 years.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s also been exaggerating crowd sizes at his blue-state events. After holding a rally in California\u2019s Coachella Valley on Saturday, Trump boasted about having 100,000 attendees.\u00a0While the exact number of attendees is unclear, a permit issued for the event\u00a0reportedly<\/a>\u00a0capped attendance at 15,000.<\/p>\n
