Democrats just can\u2019t get it together when it comes to toning down the rhetoric. There was a second attempt on former and potentially future President Donald Trump\u2019s life 10 days ago, which came just over two months since the first attempt on July 13. That didn\u2019t stop Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo from saying that we should \u201cextinguish [Trump] for good,\u201d however.<\/p>\n

The remarks came while the secretary and former governor of Rhode Island was on MSNBC\u2019s \u201cMorning Joe.\u201d As she was complaining about what she claimed was \u201canother\u00a0lie<\/em>\u201d from Trump, asking \u201clike, how did we get here?\u201d Gesturing for emphasis, Raimondo insisted, \u201cLet\u2019s extinguish [Trump] for good,\u201d going on to claim Vice President Kamala Harris was an \u201canswer\u201d as a \u201cremarkably<\/em> talented candidate,\u201d who is supposedly \u201csincere, who is pragmatic, who is open, let\u2019s just get it done.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response to such a startling remark from Raimondo, co-host Mika Brzezinski sought clarification to make clear that her guest \u201cmeant vote him out,\u201d who chirped with a \u201cyes, absolutely, vote him out, banish him from American politics, yes, just vote him out so he goes away because he\u2019s\u2013it\u2019s just not where America\u2026 let\u2019s turn the page,\u201d as she continued to rant about Trump.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In addition to the Trump War Room putting out a clip of such remarks, the Trump-Vance Rapid Response sent out<\/a> an email about Raimondo\u2019s remarks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Last Monday, following the second assassination attempt against Trump, the Trump-Vance campaign also released<\/a> an exhaustive list calling out<\/a> numerous other top Democrats as well as their allies in the mainstream media. That list also highlighted how \u201cthe deplorable commentary from Democrats and the Fake News in the aftermath of the latest assassination attempt has been even worse.\u201d<\/p>\n

Days later, Raimondo is certainly contributing to furthering that \u201cdeplorable commentary.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brzezinski began the segment in question<\/a> by pointing out that Raimondo was there in her \u201cpersonal capacity,\u201d though that doesn\u2019t exactly absolve her. Brzezinski also began by noting they were \u201cgoing to stay on the economy,\u201d which clearly didn\u2019t turn out to be the case. As Brzezinski stressed, \u201cPolling is showing this is an issue where work needs to be done by the Harris-Walz campaign.\u201d That\u2019s putting it politely, considering polls show Trump up by double digits on who voters trust more with such a key issue.<\/p>\n

Raimondo was asked specifically about \u201cthe overall vision\u201d and a \u201cplan,\u201d which the secretary claimed was \u201creally clear\u201d and in part involved \u201cbring[ing] down costs for middle-class America and all Americans,\u201d claiming Harris is even \u201cobsessed\u201d with such a plan. Raimondo also spoke about \u201cstability\u201d and the need to get rid of \u201cchaos.\u201d That\u2019s just not cutting it, though, considering Harris is the sitting vice president and has been for over three and a half years.<\/p>\n

Raimondo didn\u2019t merely rant about Trump needing to be \u201cextinguish[ed],\u201d but also at the start of the segment claimed he would \u201cabsolutely increase costs\u201d due to tariffs.<\/p>\n

From there, she even offered laughable claims about Harris, supposedly in contrast to Trump. \u201cBut at the end of the day, Mika, more than any of this, you\u2019re choosing between a leader who will bring practical solutions, she is calm, she is smart, she embraces innovation,\u201d Raimondo offered. This is supposedly in contrast to \u201ca guy who will bring chaos, unpredictability, and vindictiveness, which will almost certainly, in my<\/em> judgment, explode the deficit, increase costs, and lead us to a recession.\u201d Given that Raimondo would go on to say we should \u201cextinguish\u201d Trump just minutes later, perhaps her judgment isn\u2019t the best.<\/p>\n

But, even the admittedly anti-Trump Brzezinski pointed out that what Raimondo offered amounted to \u201cgoals\u201d rather than \u201ca vision,\u201d though she did \u201cgo on and on\u201d to spew laughable pro-Biden talking points while taking shots at Fox News.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, how does [Harris] take the mantle and carry it forward and express a vision\u00a0<\/em>to reach these goals,\u201d Brzezinski asked as follow-up. Raimondo mostly responded by repeating laughable talking points, such as how Harris is supposedly \u201cfocused\u201d and represents \u201ca new way forward\u201d and is \u201csomeone who gets it\u201d and wants to bring down costs. This comes despite how Harris is the sitting vice president.<\/p>\n

After criticizing Trump on tariffs, Raimondo added that this \u201cis why I\u2019m honestly here in my personal capacity,\u201d because \u201cthe stakes are so high in this one\u201d and \u201cwe cannot afford to put [Trump] back in the White House.\u201d<\/p>\n

Raimondo\u2019s most startling comments on \u201cextinguish[ing]\u201d Trump came after she and Brzezinski threw a fit over Trump saying he would be \u201cprotectors\u201d for women, despite the co-host noting they were \u201cgoing to stay on the economy.\u201d After a lengthy rant against Trump and spewing fearmongering talking points on abortion, Brzezinski handed Raimondo the opportunity to go off with her dangerous rhetoric, asking hysterically, \u201cHow have we gotten here?!\u201d<\/p>\n

After ranting about Trump and patting herself on the back over abortion legislation in Rhode Island, talking about what \u201creal protection\u201d on the issue amounts to, Raimondo went with her alarming line. As she sought clarification on the secretary\u2019s remarks, Brzezinski hardly seemed concerned, though, as she had reserved that for the wailing and gnashing of the teeth over her hatred for Trump.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also worth reminding that MSNBC decided not to air \u201cMorning Joe\u201d<\/a> on July 15, days after the first attempt on Trump\u2019s life. Sure enough, the show still features guests in top positions in the Biden-Harris administration, regardless of whether they are speaking in their \u201cpersonal capacity,\u201d who are given such a platform to spew inflammatory rhetoric.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As Nick Arama at our sister site of RedState reminded in covering<\/a> Raimondo\u2019s \u201cvile, dangerous rhetoric,\u201d the secretary also appeared at the DNC last month to give a shockingly dumb take<\/a> on how the administration she is part of had to revise job numbers, having overcounted by 818,000 jobs<\/a>. She began by blaming Trump, and then claimed \u201cI\u2019m not familiar with that\u201d when confronted further with the truth by ABC News.<\/p>\n
