If it\u2019s at all possible, I\u2019ll do this favor for you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after that, Bertha passed on.<\/p>\n<p>A few nights later, Betty was awakened from a sound sleep by a blinding flash of white light and a voice calling out to her, \u201cBetty, Betty.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho is it?\u201d asked Betty, sitting up suddenly. \u201cWho is it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBetty \u2014 it\u2019s me, Bertha.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re not Bertha. Bertha just died.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m telling you, it\u2019s me, Bertha,\u201d Insisted the voice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBertha! Where are you?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn heaven,\u201d replied Bertha.\u00a0 \u201cI have some really good news and a little bad news.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTell me the good news first,\u201d said Betty.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe good news,\u201d Bertha said, \u201cIs that there\u2019s women\u2019s softball in heaven. Better yet, all of our old buddies who died before me are here, too.\u00a0 Even better than that, we\u2019re all young again. Better still, it\u2019s always springtime and it never rains or snows.\u00a0 And best of all, we can play softball all we want, and we never get tired.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s fantastic,\u201d said Betty. \u201cIt\u2019s beyond my wildest dreams!\u00a0 So what\u2019s the bad news?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bertha replies,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re pitching Tuesday.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two 90-year-old women, Bertha and Betty, had been best friends all of their lives.
