He Promised Me Work In Lagos, Na Trap I Enter (EPISODE 39)

EPISODE 39 – The Story Never Ends

Even after all the nights of fear, all the days of struggle, and all the small victories in Lagos, I had learned one truth: the story never really ends.

The phone rang again. My heart tightened. I had promised myself to be cautious, to protect Ada, to protect myself. But the curiosity gnawed at me. I picked up.

A calm, unfamiliar voice came through. “I hear say you dey help girls now…”

My hands froze. The voice carried knowledge, power, and a subtle warning all at once. Lagos had never been kind to the weak, and I had learned that every new opportunity could hide danger — or promise change.

I swallowed hard. “Yes,” I whispered, my voice steady despite the adrenaline coursing through me.

The line went silent for a moment. Then the voice said, “Then we need to talk. You go see things differently. Lagos never rest, and neither do the people who run it.”

The call ended. The number vanished from my screen.

I sank back into my chair, mind racing. The city outside never slept, never stopped moving, and now, a new chapter awaited. I had survived, I had learned, I had grown — but Lagos still had lessons for me.

And somewhere in the shadows, a new challenge, a new danger, or perhaps a new ally, was waiting.

Season 2 Coming Soon…

The saga continues. Nkiru’s fight for freedom, survival, and justice is far from over. This is Lagos — the machine never stops, and neither will she.
