Two Gas Men Were Out Checking Meters
Two employees from a gas company, a seasoned training supervisor, and a novice trainee were conducting meter checks in a suburban neighborhood.
They parked their vehicle at the alley’s far end and systematically worked their way to the opposite side.
Observing the duo inspecting her gas meter from her kitchen window, a woman at the last house kept a watchful eye on them.
Upon completing the meter check, the experienced supervisor playfully challenged his younger colleague to a foot race down the alley, aiming to demonstrate that an older individual could outrun a younger counterpart.
As they sprinted back toward the truck, they were surprised to discover the lady from the last house huffing and puffing right behind them.
Coming to a sudden halt, they inquired about her well-being.
Gasping for breath, she replied, “When I saw two gas men running as hard as you two were, I figured I’d better run too!”
